Richard H. Thaler
Premio Nobel de Economía

Professor of Behavioural Science and Economics at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. He is a former faculty director of the Center for Decision Research (CDR), a member of CDR's Board of Governors, and co-director (with Robert Shiller) of the Behavioural Economics Project at the National Bureau of Economic Research. Richard H. Thaler has been awarded the 2017 Nobel Prize in Economics by the Royal Swedish Academy for "contributions to behavioural economics".  

Research 

Thaler studies behavioural economics and finance, as well as the psychology of decision-making that lies in the gap between economics and psychology. His research suggests that decision-making is not always based on rational standards, but that psychological variables also play a role in deviating from rational economic behaviour.

He is Professor of Economics at the London Business School and a consulting scholar at Stanford University's Longevity Center. A board member and advisor to a variety of companies and governments, he is a co-founder of The Longevity Forum, an organisation aimed at achieving longer and healthier lives, and a member of the Cabinet Office (Science and Technology) Honorary Committee.

In addition to teaching and research, he is widely involved in policy, including at the World Bank.

He is the author of numerous articles, as well as author or editor of over twenty books, including The Economics of the Welfare State (5th edition, 2012) and Pension Reform: A Short Guide (with Peter Diamond).
 

Hervé Boulhol

Head of Pensions and Population Ageing, Social Policy Division, Directorate for Employment, Labour and Social Affairs at the OECD. Previously, he worked in the OECD Economics Department, heading the France and Poland desks, and for Going-for-Growth. Before joining the OECD in 2007, he worked as an Economist at Natixis and in financial markets. He holds a PhD in Economics from the Université Paris Panthéon-Sorbonne on international competition and labour markets.

He has authored and co-authored numerous publications at the OECD and in leading journals. His current responsibilities include the flagship publication 'Pensions at a Glance' and 'OECD Pension Reviews'.

Since 2017 she is responsible for the programme 'Third Age, The Challenges of Architecture' of the Fundación Arquitectura y Sociedad and director of the architectural and urban innovation project 'envejezANDO (rural and urban)'.

She holds a PhD in Sociology from the Complutense University of Madrid. She has been an advisor at the National Office of Foresight and Strategy, in the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government of Spain. She has teaching experience in different universities and has worked as a researcher in interdisciplinary research groups since 2009. She is also an associate professor at the Carlos III University of Madrid.

Current research

She studies housing rights and residential inequality from an interdisciplinary perspective, comparing the situation in the United States and Europe. Other lines of research focus on old age, vulnerability, childhood and smart cities.

She has worked as Monitoring and Evaluation Coordinator at CIPPEC in Argentina and as a consultant specialising in evaluation in Argentina and the United States.

Her areas of interest are social and education policies and, in particular, experimental evaluations.

She is currently deputy head of the unit responsible for social sustainability in the European Commission's Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development. His lines of research and publications are focused on electronic marketing, commercial distribution and innovation and entrepreneurship. He has supervised eleven doctoral theses.

She is Director of the Division for Inclusive Social Development (DISD) of the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs. Until 2011, she was advisor to the EU Fundamental Rights Agency and to the Committee for the Promotion of Non-armed and Non-violent Civil Defence of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and special advisor to the Vice-President of the European Commission on human rights, democracy and social affairs.

He holds a PhD in Economics and Actuarial Science. Professor at the University of Barcelona and Professor at the London School of Economics in specialised programmes in pensions and behavioural economics, where he is Academic Director of the Global Pensions Programme. He is co-founder and president of Novaster, a leading pension consultancy in Spain and Latin America in pension, investment and risk advice. 

Research 

Author of several books and more than a hundred articles, he has repeatedly appeared before the Parliamentary Commission of the Toledo Pact for pension restructuring in Spain.
